Car
To reach Glenelg Beach by car from Adelaide, head west on North Terrace towards King William St. Continue onto Sir Edwin Smith Ave and then take the ramp onto the South Road. Follow South Road until you reach Anzac Highway. Merge onto Anzac Highway and continue south. Follow the signs for Glenelg, and turn left onto Jetty Road. Continue straight, and you will arrive at Glenelg Beach, located on the S Esplanade. Parking is available nearby, and fees may apply depending on the area.
Public Transportation - Tram
If you prefer public transportation, take the Adelaide Metro tram from the city center. Board the Glenelg tram at the stop near the Adelaide Railway Station (Victoria Square). The tram ride takes approximately 30 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way. Disembark at the last stop, which is Glenelg. From there, it’s just a short walk down Jetty Road to reach Glenelg Beach on S Esplanade. Be sure to check the current tram schedule and ticket prices, which are typically around AUD 3.40 for a single adult ticket.
Public Transportation - Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Adelaide to Glenelg. Buses 100 and 101 run from the city center to Glenelg. Board the bus at the stop on King William Street. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Jetty Road and then walk a short distance to reach Glenelg Beach on S Esplanade. Make sure to confirm the bus schedule and ticket costs, which are usually around AUD 3.40 for a single adult ticket.
