Car
From South West, head towards the city of Sydney and take the A1 highway. Follow the signs for the F3 towards Newcastle. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards Balgowlah Heights. Continue on the local roads until you reach Lighthouse Track. There is limited parking available at the trailhead leading to Grotto Point Lighthouse.
Public Transportation
Take a train from your location in South West to Central Station in Sydney. From Central Station, transfer to the T2 or T3 train line towards Circular Quay. Get off at the Manly Wharf station. From there, catch the 135 bus towards Balgowlah Heights and get off at the stop closest to Lighthouse Track. Follow the walking path to reach Grotto Point Lighthouse. Be aware of the bus fare, which is approximately AUD 4.00 to AUD 6.00 depending on the distance.
Walking
If you are already in the Balgowlah Heights area, you can reach Grotto Point Lighthouse on foot. Start at the end of Lighthouse Track; the walk to the lighthouse takes about 30 minutes and offers scenic views along the way. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the trail may be uneven.
