If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Huonville, which is about 37 kilometers north of the Hartz Mountains. Take the Huon Highway (A6) south towards the town of Geeveston. Once in Geeveston, turn onto Arve Road, following the signs for the Hartz Mountains National Park. Continue on Arve Road until you reach the park entrance. The drive will take approximately 45 minutes, and there is no entrance fee for the park.

To reach Hartz Mountains using public transportation, take a bus from Hobart to Huonville. The bus service is operated by Metro Tasmania, and the journey takes about 40 minutes. Once in Huonville, you will need to take a taxi or arrange a shuttle to Geeveston, which is about 10 kilometers away. From Geeveston, you can either hire a taxi to reach the Hartz Mountains National Park entrance or check for local tours that might take you to the park. Be aware that taxi fares can vary, so it’s advisable to confirm the cost beforehand.
