If you're driving from the Sunshine Coast, head north on the Bruce Highway (M1). After about 20 minutes, take the exit for Steve Irwin Way. Follow Steve Irwin Way for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Maleny - Kenilworth Road. Turn left onto Maleny - Kenilworth Road and continue for about 10 kilometers. You will then arrive in Maleny. Once in Maleny, turn right onto Mountain View Road. McCarthy's Lookout is at 563 Mountain View Rd, and you will find parking available nearby.

To reach McCarthy's Lookout using public transport, start by taking a bus from your location in the Sunshine Coast to the Maleny town center. You can catch a bus from major hubs like Maroochydore or Caloundra. Once you arrive in Maleny, you will need to either walk or take a taxi to Mountain View Road. The distance from the town center to the lookout is approximately 2 kilometers, which may take about 25 minutes to walk. If you're taking a taxi, simply tell the driver to take you to 563 Mountain View Rd, and they will know how to get there.
