Car

If you're driving, head towards La Perouse in New South Wales. From the Sydney CBD, take the Eastern Distributor and follow the signs to Botany Bay, then take the exit for La Perouse. Once in La Perouse, follow Anzac Parade and turn onto Bare Island Rd. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that it may incur a fee, typically around AUD 5 per hour. The fort is a short walk from the parking area.

To get to Bare Island Fort via public transport, start from Central Station in Sydney. Take the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train to Bondi Junction. From Bondi Junction, transfer to Bus 391 towards La Perouse. The bus will take you directly to La Perouse. Get off at the 'La Perouse' stop and walk towards Bare Island Rd. The fort is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. The bus fare will cost around AUD 4-$5 depending on your travel time.

Take the Light Rail from Central Station to Dulwich Hill, and then transfer to the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train towards Bondi Junction. Get off at Bondi Junction and catch Bus 391 to La Perouse. Alight at the 'La Perouse' stop and walk towards Bare Island Rd. The fort is about a 10-minute walk away. The combined fare for the light rail and bus will be approximately AUD 4-$5.
