Car
If you are driving from the Sydney Basin area, head south on the M1 (Pacific Motorway) towards Wollongong. Take the exit for the A6 (Princess Highway) towards Sutherland. Continue on A6 until you reach the turnoff for Heathcote Road (B68). Follow Heathcote Road until it merges into the Royal National Park. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Wattamolla Beach. Once you enter the park, pay the entrance fee (approximately AUD 12 per vehicle) at the toll booth. Continue driving until you reach the Wattamolla Beach car park.

Public Transport
For those using public transportation, start at the Central Station in Sydney. Take the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train towards Cronulla and get off at Sutherland Station. From Sutherland, transfer to the 987 bus heading towards the Royal National Park. The bus will take you close to Wattamolla Beach. Get off at the Wattamolla stop. Be aware that bus services may be limited, especially on weekends, so check the timetable in advance. The bus fare is approximately AUD 4-5 one way.

For the more adventurous traveler, you can cycle to Wattamolla Beach. Starting from Sydney, take the bike paths through the suburbs and make your way towards the Royal National Park. There are bike-friendly routes that will guide you to the park entrance. Once inside the park, there are designated cycling paths that will lead you to the beach. Remember to bring enough water and snacks, as there are limited facilities along the way.
