Car
If you are driving from the Sydney CBD, take the M1 Pacific Motorway (formerly known as the F1) towards Waterfall. Take the exit onto the Princes Highway/A1 towards Wollongong. After approximately 30 km, take the left exit onto Heathcote Road. Follow Heathcote Road until you reach the entrance of the Royal National Park. There is a $12 entry fee for vehicles into the park, which you can pay at the entrance. Once inside, follow the signs towards Winifred Falls. You may need to park at the designated parking area near the intersection of Winifred Falls Firetrail.
Public Transportation
To reach Winifred Falls via public transport, take a train from Sydney Central Station to Sutherland Station. Trains to Sutherland run frequently and the journey takes about 30 minutes. From Sutherland Station, catch the 991 bus towards Waterfall. Get off at the 'Royal National Park' stop. The bus ride takes approximately 15-20 minutes. From the bus stop, it's about a 2.5 km walk to Winifred Falls via Winifred Falls Firetrail. Ensure you check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary on weekends and public holidays.
Walking
Once you reach the parking area or the bus stop near the Royal National Park, follow the signs to Winifred Falls. The walking trail is approximately 1.5 km and leads through beautiful bushland. The trail is well-marked and is suitable for all fitness levels. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.
