Car

To reach Hacking River by car, start from the Sydney central business district (CBD). Take the Eastern Distributor towards South Sydney. Continue on the M1 motorway, following the signs for Sutherland. Take the exit for the Princes Highway (A1) towards Sutherland. Once on the Princes Highway, follow the signs for the Royal National Park. As you get closer, turn onto Farnell Ave, which leads directly into the national park. There is a large parking lot available near the Hacking River, and you may also find a restaurant close by for refreshments. Note that parking fees may apply.

Public Transportation

To reach Hacking River using public transportation, start by taking a train from Sydney CBD to Sutherland Station. Trains are frequent, and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sutherland Station, transfer to the 987 bus towards 'Royal National Park'. The bus will take you close to Hacking River. Ensure to check the latest bus schedules, as they may vary. Upon disembarking, you may need to walk for a short distance to reach the river. This option is cost-effective, but be sure to have an Opal card for seamless travel across trains and buses.
