Walking
If you are in the central area of Sydney CBD, the easiest way to get to Hyde Park Barracks is by walking. Start from Pitt Street Mall, which is a central shopping area. Head south along Pitt Street until you reach Market Street. Turn right onto Market Street and continue until you reach George Street. Turn left onto George Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Elizabeth Street. Turn right onto Elizabeth Street and walk straight until you reach the entrance to Hyde Park. The Barracks is located at Queens Square, Macquarie Street, just on the edge of Hyde Park.
Public Transport - Bus
You can take a bus to get closer to Hyde Park Barracks. Head to the nearest bus stop on George Street. Look for a bus heading towards Circular Quay. Buses such as the 333, 380 or any bus that states 'Circular Quay' will work. Get off at the stop for Macquarie Street. From there, it's a short walk to the Barracks. Simply walk towards the direction of the park, and you will find Hyde Park Barracks at Queens Square.
Public Transport - Train
If you prefer taking the train, the nearest station is St James Station. From anywhere in the Sydney CBD, make your way to Town Hall Station or Circular Quay Station and catch a train towards Bondi Junction or the Airport Line. Get off at St James Station. Once you exit the station, head towards Hyde Park. Walk north through the park, and you will find the entrance to Hyde Park Barracks at Queens Square, Macquarie Street.
Light Rail
You can take the light rail from various points in Sydney CBD. Board the light rail at a nearby stop like Capitol Square or Haymarket and take it towards Circular Quay. Get off at the stop for 'Alfred Street' or 'Macquarie Place' and walk towards Macquarie Street. Hyde Park Barracks is just a short stroll from there, located at Queens Square.
