Car
If you are driving from Hobart, take the Tasman Highway (A3) towards Sorell. After about 25 minutes, turn onto the Arthur Highway (A9) towards Port Arthur. Continue on the Arthur Highway for about 45 minutes. Just before reaching Premaydena, look for signs to Impression Bay. Turn left onto Impression Bay Road and follow it until you reach the bay. Parking is available near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Impression Bay via public transport, take a bus from Hobart to Sorell. The bus service is operated by Metro Tasmania and the ride takes approximately 30 minutes. From Sorell, you will need to catch the Tasmanian Public Transport bus towards Port Arthur. Inform the driver you wish to get off at Premaydena. Once you arrive in Premaydena, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach Impression Bay. There may not be regular bus services, so check the schedule in advance.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, cycling to Impression Bay is a wonderful option. You can cycle from Hobart along the Tasman Highway to Sorell and then onto the Arthur Highway. The total distance is roughly 60 kilometers one way, so it is recommended for experienced cyclists. Once in Premaydena, follow the local roads that lead to Impression Bay. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water.
