If you are driving from Hobart, take the Southern Outlet (A6) towards the Tasman Peninsula. Follow the signs to Port Arthur. Once you reach Port Arthur, turn onto Safety Cove Road and continue until you reach Point Puer Road. Follow Point Puer Road until you arrive at the Point Puer parking area. The entire journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.
Public Transportation
From Hobart, you can take the Tasmanian Redline bus service to Port Arthur. The bus departs from the Hobart bus terminal. Make sure to check the schedule for bus times as they may vary. Once you arrive in Port Arthur, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Point Puer, which is approximately a 10-minute drive from the Port Arthur Historic Site. Ensure you have some local currency for the taxi fare.
Walking
If you are already in the Port Arthur area, you can walk to Point Puer from the Port Arthur Historic Site. It is about a 3 km (1.9 miles) walk via Safety Cove Road.
