If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Port Arthur, which is about 12 km away from Norfolk Bay Lookout. Head north on the Arthur Highway (A9) for approximately 9 km. Look for signs that will direct you to Koonya, and continue driving until you reach the Koonya area. Once in Koonya, follow local road signs to the Norfolk Bay Lookout. There is limited parking available near the lookout.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Hobart to Port Arthur. The bus service is provided by Tassielink, and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Port Arthur, you may need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 12 km to Norfolk Bay Lookout. Ensure you check the return schedule for the bus to Hobart, as service can be limited.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and have access to a vehicle to get to Koonya, you can also walk to the lookout from the nearby area. There are walking paths leading to the lookout that offer scenic views, but it's advisable to have good walking shoes and be prepared for some elevation.
