Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, take the Arthur Highway (A3) heading south from Hobart. Continue on the A3 for about 90 minutes until you reach Port Arthur. Once in Port Arthur, follow the signs to the Port Arthur Historic Site. Point Puer is located just a short drive from the main site. Turn onto Point Puer Road, and you'll find the entrance to Point Puer approximately 1.5 kilometers down the road. There's no entry fee specifically for Point Puer, but the Port Arthur Historic Site has an entry fee if you plan to visit.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Point Puer via public transport, catch a bus from Hobart to Port Arthur. The bus service typically operates a few times a day, so check the schedule ahead of your trip. Once you arrive in Port Arthur, you can either walk to Point Puer or take a taxi. The walk is about 3 kilometers and will take approximately 35 minutes. Alternatively, a taxi from the Port Arthur Historic Site to Point Puer will cost around AUD 10-15, depending on the taxi service.

• Walking

  For those already in Port Arthur, walking to Point Puer is a great way to enjoy the scenic views. Starting from the Port Arthur Historic Site, head southeast on Safety Cove Road, then turn left onto Point Puer Road. The walk is approximately 3 kilometers and takes about 35-40 minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as there are limited facilities along the route.
