From the center of New England, head south on the Pacific Highway (A1) towards Coffs Harbour. Continue on the A1 for approximately 600 km. Once you reach the outskirts of Hobart, take the exit onto the Southern Outlet (A6) towards Port Arthur. Follow the A6 for about 65 km until you see the signs for Port Arthur. Turn left onto Safety Cove Road, which will lead you directly to the Port Arthur Historic Site. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a parking fee.

Once in Hobart, head to the Franklin Wharf bus terminal and catch a bus operated by the Port Arthur Bus Service.
