Car
If you're starting from Derby, take the Gibb River Road (Derby-Gibb River Rd) heading east. The Gibb River Road is a well-known route through The Kimberley, but it can be unsealed and requires a 4WD vehicle, especially in the wet season. The drive is approximately 100 km (about 1.5 to 2 hours) and will take you directly to the Manning Gorge area. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the turn-off for Manning Gorge Road.
Public Transportation
Public transport options are limited in The Kimberley. However, you can take a bus from Broome or Derby to the Gibb River Road and then arrange for a taxi or shuttle service to take you to Manning Gorge. Make sure to book this in advance as services may not be frequent. Expect costs in the range of AUD 200-300 for the taxi service, depending on the provider.
Walking
Once you arrive at the Manning Gorge campsite, you will need to walk to the gorge itself. The walk is approximately 2 km and will take around 30 minutes. The path can be rocky and uneven, so be sure to wear sturdy footwear. The walk is scenic and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
