Car
If you're starting from Kununurra, which is the nearest major town, head southeast on the Victoria Highway (National Route 1) towards Lake Argyle. After approximately 35 kilometers, turn left onto Lake Argyle Road, which is well-signposted. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you reach the Lake Argyle Resort. From here, follow the signs to the Revolver Falls hiking trailhead. Please note that the road can be unsealed in parts, so a 4WD is recommended, especially during the wet season.
Public Transport (Bus)
Take the bus from Kununurra to Lake Argyle, which is operated by local tour companies. The bus typically departs from the Kununurra Visitor Centre. Check the schedule in advance, as services may vary. Once you arrive at Lake Argyle, you can either arrange for a shuttle to the hiking trailhead or take a taxi if available. Ensure you book your return trip in advance, as bus services may not run frequently.
Hiking
After reaching the Lake Argyle Resort, the trail to Revolver Falls begins from the resort area. The hike is about 6 kilometers one way and takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have plenty of water, wear appropriate footwear, and be prepared for rugged terrain. The path might require some navigation skills as it can be less marked, so a map or GPS device is recommended.
Guided Tour
For a more convenient option, consider booking a guided tour from Kununurra that includes transportation to Lake Argyle and a hike to Revolver Falls. These tours often provide knowledgeable guides who can enhance your experience. Prices vary, so check with local tour operators for availability and costs.
