If you're driving, start from the town of Kununurra, which is approximately 300 kilometers away from Echidna Chasm. Take the Victoria Highway (National Route 1) heading west toward Halls Creek. After about 200 kilometers, turn onto the Great Northern Highway (National Route 1) toward Halls Creek. Follow the signs to the Purnululu National Park turn-off, which will be on your left. Drive the remaining 53 kilometers on the unsealed road until you reach the Echidna Chasm car park. Please note that a 4WD vehicle is recommended, and there may be a park entry fee of around AUD 12 per vehicle, so have cash ready.
Public Transport + Walking
For those using public transport, take a bus from Kununurra to Halls Creek. Companies like 'Kununurra Bus Service' operate this route, and it takes about 3-4 hours. From Halls Creek, you will need to arrange a shuttle or taxi service to Purnululu National Park, as public transport does not directly serve the park. After reaching the park, you will have to walk approximately 2 kilometers from the car park to reach the entrance of Echidna Chasm. Make sure to check the shuttle service in advance for availability and pricing.
