Car
From The Twelve Apostles visitor area, head west on Great Ocean Road/A1 towards Peterborough. Continue driving for approximately 12 km. Upon reaching the town of Peterborough, turn left onto Bay of Islands Track. Follow this road for about 2 km until you see the parking area for Bay of Islands. The Great Ship is located along the walking tracks in this area. Look for signs directing you to the viewpoints.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, catch a bus from The Twelve Apostles to the nearest town, Peterborough. Check the local bus schedule as services may vary. Once you arrive in Peterborough, you may need to walk approximately 2 km to reach Bay of Islands Track. It’s advisable to bring a map or use a GPS-enabled device to navigate to the parking area as public transport options may be limited.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Bay of Islands, and prefer a leisurely walk, start from the Bay of Islands car park. Follow the signposted walking tracks that lead directly to viewpoints of The Great Ship. The walk is scenic and should take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
