Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from The Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre. Head southeast on the Great Ocean Road (B100) toward Apollo Bay. The Great Ocean Walk begins in Apollo Bay, which is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (around 70 km) away by car. Follow the signs for Apollo Bay, and upon arriving in the town, look for the Great Ocean Walk trailhead located at 100 Great Ocean Rd, Apollo Bay VIC 3233. There’s no entry fee for the walk itself, but ensure your vehicle is parked legally, as parking fees may apply in certain areas.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can catch a bus from The Twelve Apostles to Apollo Bay. The V/Line bus service runs between Warrnambool and Geelong, with stops in Apollo Bay. Check the V/Line website for the current schedule. Once you arrive at the Apollo Bay bus stop, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Great Ocean Walk trailhead at 100 Great Ocean Rd. Note that bus fares apply, which vary depending on your departure point.
