To reach Heart Reef, book a scenic boat tour from Airlie Beach. Most tours take you to Whitsunday Islands and include a visit to Heart Reef. Arrive at the Airlie Beach marina, where you can find several operators offering day trips. Make sure to check in at least 30 minutes before departure. The boat will typically take you through the stunning Whitsunday Islands, and after about an hour of travel, you will arrive at Heart Reef, which is located approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Airlie Beach.
Helicopter Tour
For a breathtaking view of Heart Reef, consider taking a helicopter tour from Airlie Beach. Head to the heliport, located a short walk from the main street in Airlie Beach. After checking in, you'll board the helicopter for a scenic flight that takes about 30 minutes. You will fly over the magnificent Great Barrier Reef and have the chance to see Heart Reef from above. Most tours will allow you to circle the reef, providing plenty of time for photos.
Seaplane Tour
Another great way to see Heart Reef is via a seaplane tour. Depart from the Airlie Beach seaplane terminal, which is near the marina.
