Car
If you're driving from Alice Springs, head southwest on the Stuart Highway (National Route 87) for about 450 kilometers. Upon reaching the Lasseter Highway junction, take the Lasseter Highway (National Route 6) towards Uluru. Continue for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park entrance. There is an entry fee of AUD 25 per person for a 3-day pass. After entering the park, follow the signs for Walpa Gorge, which is about 10 kilometers from the entrance. The road is sealed and suitable for all vehicles.
Public Transportation
From Alice Springs, you can take a bus service such as the 'AAT Kings' or 'Greyhound Australia' to Uluru. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours. Upon arrival at Uluru, you can book a shuttle service that runs to various locations in the park, including Walpa Gorge. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance, as they may not run frequently. Note that the entry fee of AUD 25 per person for the national park will also apply.
Guided Tour
Consider joining a guided tour from Alice Springs or Ayers Rock Resort, which often include transportation to and from Walpa Gorge along with a knowledgeable guide. These tours typically last a full day and include entrance fees to the national park. Prices for guided tours can vary, generally starting around AUD 150 per person, depending on the inclusions.
