Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Warrnambool. Head east on the Princes Highway (B100) and continue for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit for Port Campbell (C164) and follow the signs to Port Campbell. Once in Port Campbell, take the Great Ocean Road (B100) heading west. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Thunder Cave at Broken Head. There may be a small parking fee, so ensure to have some cash on hand.
Public Transportation
To reach Thunder Cave via public transport, take a V/Line train or bus from Melbourne to Warrnambool. From Warrnambool, catch a bus heading to Port Campbell. The bus service runs several times a day. Once you arrive in Port Campbell, you can either walk or take a taxi to Thunder Cave, which is approximately 5 kilometers away. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
Walking
If you are already in Port Campbell and prefer walking, begin at the town center and follow the signs towards the Great Ocean Road. The walk to Thunder Cave is approximately 5 kilometers and will take about 1 hour on foot. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry plenty of water, as the path can be uneven in places.
