Car
From Melbourne city center, take the Eastern Freeway (M3) and follow signs to the Ringwood Bypass (M3). Merge onto the Maroondah Highway (B300) and head east towards Healesville. Once in Healesville, continue on the Maroondah Highway until you reach the turnoff for the Acheron Way (C511). Follow Acheron Way for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach McMahons Creek. In McMahons Creek, turn left onto Peninsula Road. The Big Peninsula Tunnel will be on your left after a short drive.
Public Transportation
From Melbourne, take a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station to Lilydale Station (approximately 1 hour), then transfer to a bus service (Route 683) towards Healesville. Disembark at the Healesville bus interchange. From there, catch the 685 bus towards McMahons Creek. This bus will take you close to the tunnel. Confirm the bus schedule in advance as services may vary. Once you get off, walk a short distance down Peninsula Road to reach the Big Peninsula Tunnel.

If you're in a nearby town and prefer a direct route, consider using a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber.
