Walking
From the Bad Gastein train station, exit onto Bahnhofstraße. Turn left and walk uphill towards the center of Bad Gastein. Continue straight until you reach the main square (Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Platz). From there, head towards Gamskarstraße, which is just behind the square. Follow Gamskarstraße up the hill for approximately 500 meters. You will see signs for Gasteiner Höhenweg along the way. The trail entrance is located at Gamskarstraße 10, where you can start your hike.
Public Transport - Bus
If you are near the Bad Gastein town center, locate the bus stop named 'Bad Gastein - Gamskarstraße'. Take the bus that heads towards the 'Gamskar' direction. After a short ride, get off at the 'Gamskarstraße' stop. From here, walk downhill for about 100 meters until you see the entrance to the Gasteiner Höhenweg at Gamskarstraße 10. The trail begins just a short distance from the bus stop.
Walking from Local Hotels
If you are staying in a hotel in Bad Gastein, ask for directions to Gamskarstraße. Most hotels are within walking distance. For example, from Hotel Salzburger Hof, head towards the main road (Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Platz) and then follow Gamskarstraße uphill for about 10-15 minutes until you reach Gamskarstraße 10, where Gasteiner Höhenweg begins.
