From Bregenz city center, walk to the 'Bregenz, Bahnhof' bus station. Take bus number 138 towards 'Uhldingen-Mühlhofen'. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Uhldingen-Mühlhofen, Strandpromenade' stop. From there, the Pile Dwelling Museum is just a 5-minute walk along the promenade, heading towards the lake.
Train and Bus
Start at Bregenz train station. Take a train heading towards 'Friedrichshafen' and get off at 'Meersburg' station (about 20 minutes). From Meersburg, catch bus number 738 towards 'Uhldingen-Mühlhofen' and get off at 'Uhldingen-Mühlhofen, Strandpromenade'. The museum is a short 5-minute walk along the promenade.

If you are up for a scenic walk, from Bregenz, head towards the lakefront and follow the lakeside paths. It’s a long walk of approximately 1.5 hours along the beautiful Bodensee, but you will enjoy stunning views. Make sure to follow the signs towards 'Uhldingen-Mühlhofen' and stay on the promenade until you reach the museum.
