Car
If you're driving from anywhere in Flachgau, take the A1 highway towards Salzburg. Exit at 'Salzburg Nord' and follow the signs for 'Salzburg Zentrum' (City Center). Once in the city, head towards Mönchsberg, where the Festungsmuseum is located. There are parking facilities near the castle; however, parking may incur a fee (approximately €1.50 per hour). After parking, you can either walk uphill to the museum or take the funicular (which costs about €2.50 for a round trip) to reach the entrance.

For public transport, take a bus from any location in Flachgau towards Salzburg. The bus line 150 connects several towns in Flachgau to Salzburg. Get off at the 'Makartplatz' stop in Salzburg. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Festungsmuseum. Head towards the Salzach River, cross the bridge, and then follow signs towards Mönchsberg. Alternatively, you can take tram line 1 from the 'Makartplatz' to the 'Mönchsberg' stop, which is closer to the museum.
