Public Transport - Tram
From Mariatrost, you can take Tram Line 1 towards 'Graz, Jakominiplatz'. Board the tram at the nearest stop in Mariatrost, such as 'Mariatrost, Petersgasse'. The tram ride will take about 20 minutes. Disembark at 'Jakominiplatz' stop. Make sure to check the tram schedule for the latest departures.
Walking
After exiting the tram at Jakominiplatz, head towards the main square and look for the signs directing you to Schlossberg. Walk towards 'Schlossberg' following the pedestrian signs. You will walk through the city center, and it takes about 10-15 minutes to reach the base of Schlossberg.
Funicular or Stairs
Once you reach the base of Schlossberg, you have two options to ascend: take the Schlossbergbahn funicular or walk up the stairs. If you choose the funicular, there is an entrance fee of approximately €3.50 for a round trip. If you prefer walking, the stairs are free and provide a scenic route to the top.
