Walking
From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the main road (Landungsplatz) that runs alongside the lake. Follow the road as it curves to the left and leads you towards the Funicular Railway station. The Funicular will take you up to the Dachstein mountain area. Once you exit the Funicular, follow the signs to '5 Fingers' by taking the hiking trail. The trail is well-marked and will lead you to the observation deck. The entire journey will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.

From Hallstatt, walk to the Hallstatt train station (about 10 minutes from the center). Take a train to Obertraun (the next stop), which takes approximately 5 minutes. Once in Obertraun, exit the station and walk towards the bus stop. Take the bus that goes to the Dachstein glacier area. The bus will drop you off at the Funicular Railway station. From there, follow the signs to '5 Fingers'. The total travel time will be around 1 hour including waiting times.
