Getting There

    From the center of Hallstatt, walk towards the boat dock located at the edge of the lake. You will see the beautiful Hallstätter See on your right. Follow the promenade along the lake for about 10 minutes until you reach the boat dock. Here, you can purchase a ticket for a boat ride to Berchtesgaden. Enjoy the scenic ride which takes approximately 30 minutes.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Hallstatt, walk to the nearest bus stop 'Hallstatt Bahnhof.' This is located near the train station. Catch the bus number 150 towards 'Bad Ischl.' After about 30 minutes, get off at 'Bad Ischl.' Here, transfer to bus number 150 again, but this time towards 'Berchtesgaden.' The journey will take approximately 45 minutes.

  • Train

    Start from Hallstatt and walk to the Hallstatt train station, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the town center. Once at the station, take the train to 'Bad Ischl.' This train ride takes about 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Bad Ischl, you will need to switch to a train heading to 'Berchtesgaden.' The total travel time including the switch will be approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
