From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the Hallstatt train station located near the lakefront. Once you reach the station, you can take a scenic walk along the lakeside path in the direction of Obertraun. The path is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Continue walking for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the village of Obertraun. As you enter Obertraun, you will find signs directing you to the Dachstein Giant Ice Cave. Follow the signs for about 15 minutes until you reach the entrance of the cave.

From Hallstatt, make your way to the Hallstatt train station located near the lakefront. Purchase a ticket for the train to Obertraun; the journey takes approximately 10 minutes. Once you arrive at the Obertraun train station, exit the station and follow the signs for the Dachstein Giant Ice Cave. It's about a 20-minute walk from the station to the cave entrance. Simply follow the road leading towards the mountains, and you will see signs guiding you to the cave.
