Dachstein Krippenstein: A Majestic Alpine Adventure

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the main road (B166) which leads out of the village. Walk along the lakefront path to enjoy the scenic views. After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach the bus stop named 'Hallstatt Lahn'. Here, you can catch a bus heading to Obertraun. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as it may vary. Once on the bus, stay on for about 10 minutes until you arrive at 'Obertraun - Winkl'. After getting off, walk about 5 minutes down Winkl street until you reach your destination at Winkl 34, the Dachstein Krippenstein.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Hallstatt. Start at the rental shop and head towards the main road (B166). Cycle along the lakefront path for approximately 20 minutes until you reach 'Hallstatt Lahn' bus stop. At this point, you will have to transition to the road leading to Obertraun. Follow the road signs for approximately 5 more minutes, and you will arrive at Winkl 34, Dachstein Krippenstein. The entire trip should take around 30 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.

• Bus

  To reach Dachstein Krippenstein from Hallstatt, first, walk to the 'Hallstatt Lahn' bus stop located along the main road (B166). Board a bus heading towards Obertraun, which operates regularly. The bus ride will take around 10 minutes. Once you arrive at 'Obertraun - Winkl' bus stop, disembark and walk about 5 minutes down Winkl street. You will find Dachstein Krippenstein at Winkl 34. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips as well!
