After approximately 20 minutes of walking along the lakeside path, you will reach the ferry terminal at the Hallstatt lake. Take the ferry to Obertraun; it takes about 10 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Once you arrive at the Obertraun ferry terminal, walk straight ahead and follow the road signs to Dachsteinhöhlen. The caves are about a 30-minute walk from the terminal. You'll pass through Obertraun village, and the path is well-marked with signs directing you towards the caves.
