Getting there

Walking

From the center of Hallstatt, start at the Market Square (Marktplatz). Head towards the waterfront along the lake. Walk along the promenade, enjoying the beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Continue following the path until you reach the end of the lake. There, you will find signs directing you towards Gosauseen. The walk is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.

From Hallstatt, walk to the Hallstatt train station, which is about a 10-minute walk from the Market Square. Take the train to the nearest stop, which is 'Gosau', and from there, look for local bus services that head towards Gosauseen. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
