Walking
From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the dock area where the ferry terminal is located. Take the ferry to the town of Obertraun, which is just across the lake. Once you arrive in Obertraun, you can catch a train from the Obertraun station to Berchtesgaden. Once you arrive at Berchtesgaden station, it's about a 20-minute walk to Schloss Berchtesgaden. Head southeast on Bahnhofstraße, then take a left onto Schloßstraße. Follow the signs to the castle.

Bus
From Hallstatt, walk to the bus stop at Hallstatt Bahnhof. Take the bus towards Bad Ischl and get off at the Berchtesgaden stop. From there, you can walk to Schloss Berchtesgaden, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. Head northeast on Schloßstraße until you reach the castle entrance.

Train and Walking
Start at Hallstatt and walk to the Hallstatt train station. Take the train towards Bad Ischl, then transfer to a train heading to Berchtesgaden. Upon arrival in Berchtesgaden, exit the station and walk east on Bahnhofstraße, then turn left onto Schloßstraße. Follow the road until you reach Schloss Berchtesgaden.
