Walking
If you are in the center of Hallstatt, start by heading towards the Market Square (Marktplatz). From the Market Square, look for the road that leads uphill towards the Salzberg (Salt Mountain). This road is called Salzbergstraße. Follow Salzbergstraße for about 10 minutes; you will pass by several charming shops and cafes. As you continue, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Alte Schmiede. The destination is located at Salzberg 2, which is on your right side just before you reach the entrance to the Salzberg cable car station.
Walking
Alternatively, if you are near the Hallstatt ferry terminal, exit the terminal and walk along the waterfront promenade (Seepromenade) towards the center of Hallstatt. Continue walking until you reach the Market Square. From there, follow the same directions as above by taking Salzbergstraße uphill to Alte Schmiede.
