Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Hallstatt Market Square, walk towards the lakefront. Follow the path along the lake until you reach the wooden boardwalk. Continue along the boardwalk, enjoying the view of the lake and the mountains. After about 10 minutes, you will come to the Salzbergstraße. Turn left onto Salzbergstraße. Salzwelten Hallstatt will be on your left after approximately 5 minutes of walking. The address is Salzbergstraße 21.

    From the Hallstatt Market Square, walk towards the Funicular Station, which is located on the lakefront. The station is marked and easy to find. Take the funicular up the mountain. Once you reach the top, follow the signs towards Salzwelten Hallstatt. It's a short walk from the funicular exit to the mine entrance. The total trip usually takes about 15-20 minutes including the funicular ride.
