From the center of Hallstatt, where the Market Square is located, head towards the lakeside by following the path leading towards the waterfront. You can start by walking down the main street, which is called 'Seestraße'. Continue along this street as it curves around and leads directly to the edge of Hallstätter See. As you walk, you will see beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the lakeshore.

Public Transport (Boat)
If you're looking for a scenic route, you can take a small boat ride from the Hallstatt ferry terminal. The terminal is located near the center of Hallstatt, close to the salt mine. Purchase a ticket at the terminal and board the boat heading towards the opposite shore of Hallstätter See. The ride offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. The boat ride takes about 10 minutes, after which you will arrive directly at the opposite side of the lake, where you can explore more of the area.
