Car
To reach Edelweißspitze by car, navigate to Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße. From there, take the Großglockner High Alpine Road (Großglockner Hochalpenstraße). This scenic route is a toll road, so be prepared to pay the fee at the entrance. The current toll cost is around €38 for a car and €19 for motorcycles. Follow the road for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the Edelweißspitze parking area. Look for signs directing you to Edelweißspitze, which is located at an elevation of 2,571 meters.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a train to Zell am See. From Zell am See, you can catch a bus towards Fusch. The bus will take you to the base of the Großglockner High Alpine Road. Please check local bus schedules, as they operate seasonally and may vary. Once at the base, you can either walk or take a taxi to reach the top of Edelweißspitze, as public buses do not travel all the way up due to road regulations.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
For those without a car, consider using a taxi or ride-sharing service from Fusch or Zell am See directly to Edelweißspitze. This option can be more expensive, costing approximately €50-€80 depending on the distance and time of day. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
