Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, such as Zell am See. From Zell am See, head southeast on B168 towards Kaprun. Continue on B168 until you reach the junction with B165. Take B165 towards the Grossglockner road. Follow B165 for approximately 15 km until you see signs for Leiterfall. There will be a parking area near the falls. Parking may incur a fee, so please have some cash available.
Public Transportation
To reach Leiterfall via public transportation, take a train from Salzburg to Zell am See. Once in Zell am See, transfer to the local bus service (Bus Line 660) heading towards Kaprun. Get off at the stop closest to the Grossglockner road, then you may need to walk approximately 2 km to reach Leiterfall. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently, especially during off-peak seasons. A bus ticket will cost around €2-3.
Walking
If you're coming from a nearby hiking trail or another point of interest, you can walk to Leiterfall. The trail from the Grossglockner area is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The walk may take about 30-45 minutes depending on your starting point. Ensure you wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water.
