Car
If you are driving, start your journey from the nearest major town in Hohe Tauern. Navigate to the A10 Tauern Autobahn and take exit 41 for Taxenbach. From the exit, follow signs towards Taxenbach and then continue on B168. After approximately 5 km on B168, you will see signs pointing to Reissrachkopf. Turn left onto the local road leading to the scenic area. There is limited parking available near the viewpoint, so be prepared to park and walk the last section if necessary.
Public Transportation
To reach Reissrachkopf using public transport, start by taking a train to Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße station. From there, catch the local bus (Bus Line 660) heading towards Taxenbach. Get off at the Taxenbach stop. From the bus stop, you can either walk approximately 3 km towards Reissrachkopf, following the signs, or take a taxi for a quicker option. Check local timetables for bus and train schedules, as they may vary.
Walking
If you're already in Taxenbach, you can walk to Reissrachkopf. Start from the center of Taxenbach and head towards the B168 road. Follow the road signs for Reissrachkopf, which is about a 3 km walk from the town center. The path is scenic and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes, as part of the route may be steep.
