Top of Innsbruck Roundtrip Cable Car Ticket
Brilliant Alpine Views and a Fun Ride Up
This is the easiest way you will ever find to climb to the top of one of the Austrian Alps. A funicular train and two cable cars take you from Innsbruck to the top in less than 30 minutes. We went early in the morning in the heat of summer and after storms the night before this meant the first cable car went through the remaining clouds. We could see the clouds across the rest of the valley had already burned off and this mean we enjoyed two different t views on our trip - one of the mountains peering out above the clouds and one of the whole valley below when they cleared. The views at each stop on the way up are amazing and offer different perspectives on Innsbruck and its surrounds. It is worth stopping a short while on the way up or down to take them in as you can see things you miss elsewhere. After the first cable car, there is a great little playground for the kids to enjoy, swinging and sliding high in the sky. At the very top, the short walk to the Innsbruck Viewpoint is worth it, along with the viewpoint in the opposite direction along the way. It might not be for those with a fear of heights, but the walk is gentle and not exerting and provides a wonderful reward. A great way to spend a few hours up above Innsbruck.
