Walking
If you are starting from Innsbruck's main train station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head south towards the city center. Follow the signs pointing towards the 'Altstadt' (Old Town). Walk along the Maria-Theresien-Straße, a pedestrian-friendly street filled with shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the Anichstraße. Continue straight, and you will eventually reach the Domplatz (Cathedral Square). The Dom St. Jakob is located at Dompl. 6, directly on the square.
Public Transport - Tram
From the Innsbruck main train station (Hauptbahnhof), you can take tram line 1 or 3 towards 'Igls' or 'Mühlau'. Get off at the 'Landesgericht' stop, which is just a short walk from the cathedral. From the tram stop, walk towards the Domplatz (Cathedral Square). The Dom St. Jakob is located at Dompl. 6, directly on the square. The tram journey takes about 10 minutes.
Public Transport - Bus
If you are near the 'Universitätsstraße' bus stop, take bus line J towards 'Hochschulstraße'. Ride for about 5 stops and get off at 'Domplatz'. Once you exit the bus, you will see Dom St. Jakob right in front of you. The cathedral is located at Dompl. 6, 6020 Innsbruck, and is a prominent landmark in the area.
Walking from Old Town
If you are already in the Old Town (Altstadt), start at the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) and head south along Herzog-Friedrich-Straße. Continue straight until you reach the Domplatz, which is just a few minutes away. The Dom St. Jakob will be visible as you approach the square, located at Dompl. 6. This route offers a picturesque walk through the historical heart of Innsbruck.
