Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards Salzburg from any location in Innviertel. Follow the A1 motorway towards Salzburg. Take exit 297 towards Salzburg Nord. Continue on B150 until you reach the center of Salzburg. Look for signs to the Old Town (Altstadt). Once in the Old Town, find your way to Residenzplatz. The Residenzbrunnen is located in the center of the square. There are several parking garages in the area, such as the Altstadt Garage or the Mirabell Garage, where you can park your car (parking fees apply, approximately €2.50 per hour).
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from any Innviertel station to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). The journey typically takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on your starting point. Once you arrive at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and catch bus number 2 or 3 towards 'Mozartsteg' or 'Mirabellplatz'. Get off at 'Residenzplatz'. From there, you can easily walk to Residenzbrunnen, which is just a short stroll within the Old Town. Bus tickets cost around €2.40 for a single journey.
Walking
If you're already in the Old Town area, you can easily reach Residenzbrunnen by walking. From Mirabell Palace, head across the Salzach River towards the Old Town. Follow the signs towards Residenzplatz, and you will arrive at the fountain within a 10-15 minute walk. The scenic route offers beautiful views of the historic buildings and the river.
