Car
If you are traveling by car from any location in Innviertel, start by getting onto the A1 motorway. Follow the signs for Salzburg and continue until you reach the exit for Salzburg Nord. Take the exit towards Salzburg Zentrum and follow the signs for the city center. Once in the city, look for parking options near the historic center, such as the Mirabell Parking Garage or the Altstadt Garage. After parking, it is a short walk to Salzburg Cathedral, located at Domplatz 1a.
Public Transportation - Train
To reach Salzburg Cathedral via public transportation, take a train from any major station in Innviertel, such as Ried im Innkreis or Braunau am Inn, to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Trains run regularly and the journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Once at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and take tram line 1 or 2 towards the city center (get off at the stop 'Mülln - Altstadt'). From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the cathedral, following signs towards 'Domplatz'.
Public Transportation - Bus
If you prefer to travel by bus, check the local bus services that connect Innviertel with Salzburg. Buses such as the 160 or 161 depart from various towns in Innviertel and arrive at Salzburg's main bus station. From the bus station, you can either walk to the cathedral, which is around 20 minutes away, or take a local bus to the city center. Look for buses heading towards 'Friedhof' or 'Domplatz' for a closer drop-off.
