Aussichtsbankerl: A Scenic Hiking Gem in Hinterstein

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Hinterstein. From the center of Kufstein, take the B173 towards Ebbs, then follow signs for B178 towards Going and continue to the town of Hinterstein. Once in Hinterstein, you can park your car at the designated parking area near Runde Hintersteiner See. The parking lot is usually well-marked, and it may cost around €5 for a day’s parking. After parking, follow the marked walking trails to Aussichtsbankerl, which is about a 20-minute walk from the parking area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a train from Innsbruck or Salzburg to Kufstein. Once you arrive at Kufstein train station, board the bus number 4070, which heads towards Hinterstein. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Hinterstein' stop. From there, follow the walking directions to Runde Hintersteiner See. The walk to Aussichtsbankerl is a pleasant 20-minute hike along the scenic trails. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may run less frequently during weekends.

  If you are already in the hiking area, you can start from Runde Hintersteiner See. Follow the signs that indicate the path to Aussichtsbankerl. The hiking trail is well-marked and leads you through beautiful scenic views. The walk should take around 20-30 minutes, and it is suitable for most fitness levels. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water, as there are no facilities along the trail.
