Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the town of Pertisau, which is one of the main access points to the Karwendel Mountains. From Pertisau, drive to the Karwendelbahn cable car station. The address is Karwendelbahn, 6213 Pertisau, Austria. Parking is available at the station, but it may incur a fee of around €5-10 for a day. Once parked, take the cable car to the top station, which is at an elevation of approximately 1,800 meters.

  • Cable Car

    After arriving at the top station of the Karwendelbahn, follow the marked hiking trails that lead towards the Östliche Karwendelspitze. The trail to the peak is marked and should take about 1.5 to 2 hours of hiking. Ensure you have suitable hiking footwear and water, as the terrain can be rocky and steep.
