If you are traveling by car, head towards Vienna. From Lower Austria, you can join the A1 highway and follow the signs for Vienna. As you approach the city, take the A23 exit toward Graz and merge onto the A23. Exit at 'Simmering' and continue on Simmeringer Hauptstraße. The Central Cemetery (Wiener Zentralfriedhof) will be on your right at Simmeringer Hauptstraße 234, 1110 Wien. There is usually free parking available along the street or nearby parking lots, but be mindful of any parking regulations.
Public Transportation - Train
To reach Central Cemetery using public transportation, take the ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) train to Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Central Station). From there, transfer to the U3 subway line (the orange line) towards Simmering. Get off at the 'Simmering' station. Once you exit the station, head towards Simmeringer Hauptstraße and walk approximately 10 minutes to reach Central Cemetery. Be sure to check the ÖBB website or app for train schedules and ticket prices, typically around €4-6 for a one-way journey.
Public Transportation - Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from various locations in Lower Austria to reach Central Cemetery. Use the bus service to Wien Simmering. Once you arrive, walk to Simmeringer Hauptstraße and follow it to the cemetery, which is located at Simmeringer Hauptstraße 234. Bus tickets are generally priced at around €2-3 for a single journey, and you can purchase them directly from the driver or at ticket machines.
