Train and Cog Railway
From Vienna, take a train to Wiener Neustadt, then transfer to a regional train to Puchberg am Schneeberg. From Puchberg, take the Schneebergbahn cog railway up to Hochschneeberg. From the mountain station, the Fischerhütte is a 60 to 80-minute walk. Train fare from Vienna to Puchberg: Approximately €20-30. Schneebergbahn round trip: Approximately €41.
Car and Hiking
Drive to Puchberg am Schneeberg and park near the Schneebergbahn valley station. Parking fees range from €5-€10 per day. Take the Schneebergbahn cog railway up to Hochschneeberg. From the mountain station, the Fischerhütte is a 60 to 80-minute walk. Alternatively, for experienced hikers, several trails lead from the valley to the Fischerhütte, with the most demanding ascent gaining 1,482m in altitude from Weichtalhaus. Parking near Schneebergbahn: €5-€10 per day.
Hiking from Hochschneeberg Station
Upon arrival at the Hochschneeberg station, follow the well-marked hiking trails towards ÖTK - Fischerhütte. The hike is approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace.
