Car
If you are driving from the Ötztal valley, head towards Obergurgl. Take the B186 road southbound from the town of Sölden. Continue on B186 until you reach the junction with Gurgler Landesstraße (L246). Turn left onto Gurgler Landesstraße and follow it for about 12 km until you arrive at the Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße entrance. Note that a toll fee of approximately €8.00 may apply for the use of the road during the summer months.

To reach Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße using public transport, take the Ötztalbahn train from Innsbruck to Ötztal Bahnhof. Then transfer to the bus service (line 4206) that runs towards Obergurgl. Get off at the last stop in Obergurgl. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the entrance of Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße.
