Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Pongau and take the B162 road towards Werfen. Continue on B162 for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the town of Werfen. Once in Werfen, follow signs towards Kummetstein, and look for parking areas near the base of the mountain. Be aware that parking may incur a fee of around €5 for the day.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take the train from Pongau to Werfen. The train ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Werfen train station, exit and catch bus number 550 towards 'Werfen' and ask the driver to drop you off at the stop for Kummetstein. The bus fare is approximately €2.50. After disembarking, there will be a short walk to the trail leading up to Kummetstein.

Hiking

If you're feeling adventurous and prefer a hiking option, you can start your hike from Werfen after taking the bus or driving. There are marked trails leading up to Kummetstein, offering stunning views along the way. The hike can take around 1-2 hours depending on your pace, so be sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water.
